Am I A Good Candidate for A Brow Lift?

Are you bothered by moderate to severe signs of aging on the upper face? Do friends, family or co-workers continuously mention that you look ‘tired”, “angry” or ‘sad’? Have you exhausted all of your non-surgical options? If so, it may be time to enlist the help of a brow lift. For the right person, a brow lift can dramatically improve your appearance.

A brow lift isn’t for everyone though. Depending on your individual needs you may be better suited for another procedure such as an eyelid lift or traditional facelift. Let’s take a closer look to see if a brow lift might be right for you.

You Have Visible Signs of Aging on the Upper Face

A brow lift is perfect for treating patients with moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive motions. All those years of smiling, frowning, and squinting start to show their appearance in our midlife and can result in;

  • Horizontal Forehead Lines
  • Furrows Between the Eyes
  • Deep Wrinkles on the Bridge of the Nose
  • Verticle Creases Between Eyebrows (Frown Lines)

If you are bothered by any of the above symptoms, you may be a good candidate for a brow lift.

You Have Time for Recovery

A brow lift is a relatively straightforward procedure. However, it is a surgical procedure and therefore requires a decent amount of recovery. You should be able to take at least 7-10 days off for non-strenuous activities only. Full recovery can take several weeks during which you’ll be able to slowly incorporate strenuous activities.

You’d Like Long-Lasting Results

You may be a candidate for a brow lift if you’re ready for a procedure that can produce a dramatic outcome. The procedure removes and tightens excess skin and repositions underlying muscles for long-term results. Unlike minimally-invasive wrinkle reduction treatments, a brow lift can take 10-15 years off your facial appearance. Although signs of aging can reoccur, you’ll always look better than if you hadn’t had the surgery.

Ideal Candidates for Brow Lift Surgery

The ideal candidate for a brow lift is one that is in good general health with no medical conditions that prevent the use of general anesthesia. Patients should have realistic expectations about what the procedure can do for them. Because smoking and tobacco products can inhibit blood circulation, non-smokers have a better response to surgical procedures.

What’s Right for You

The best way to determine your candidacy for the procedure is through an in-person consultation with a surgeon who specializes in facial rejuvenation. Brow lifts can be performed on their own or in conjunction with other surgical procedures for age-defying effects. One of our board-certified surgeons will happily perform a full facial assessment and help you decide what’s right for you.
