An overly large, or protruding nose can throw off our entire facial balance and distract from our natural beauty. Unlike many other aesthetic concerns, there aren’t many non-surgical solutions for reducing the size of a person’s nose. At Specialty Aesthetics Surgery, our board-certified surgeons specialize in rhinoplasties of all types including revision, ethnic, functional, and aesthetic surgeries. Using their experience and up-to-date surgical techniques, they’re able to effectively produce long-lasting results. How Does Rhinoplasty Work?

Rhinoplasties are highly-customizable based on your desired goals. In fact, results can be as subtle or as dramatic as you want. Your skilled surgeon will develop an individualized treatment plan that will help reduce the size of your nose while maintaining good nasal function. Depending on the results you’d like to achieve, your surgeon may use an open or closed technique..

Is Rhinoplasty Painful?

You’ll be placed under general anesthesia for your surgery. Since rhinoplasty is typically an outpatient procedure, you’ll be able to go home the same day. You can expect some discomfort for the first several days to a week after your surgery. During this time, ice packs can be applied and pain medication taken to alleviate discomfort. Most patients rely on regular Tylenol starting on the second day after surgery.

What Results Can I Expect?

Rhinoplasty procedures can achieve a high satisfaction rate. Although some swelling and bruising is going to occur, you’ll be able to see your new nasal contour following splint removal at about a week. Further improvement will gradually occur over several weeks to several months. Although it can take up to 1-year for your nose to fully ‘settle’ into its new position, most patients are able to comfortably enjoy their results as soon as 2-3 weeks after surgery.

Should I Consider A Rhinoplasty?

One of our board-certified surgeons will speak with you in-depth about every aspect of the procedure including safety and projected results. Specialty Aesthetic Surgery is committed to helping you make an informed decision about your upcoming procedures.
