What is the Difference Between an Eyelid Lift and a Brow Lift?

One of the most common questions our surgeons get asked is ‘What is the difference between an eyelid lift and a brow lift? Many people just don’t realize that there are so many ways to enhance the appearance of our eyes. No two patients age exactly the same, so why should there be a one-size-fits-all procedure for them?

At Specialty Aesthetics Surgery, we offer a wide range of treatment options to help patients achieve a naturally well-rested appearance. We want you to look as good on the outside as you feel on the inside.

Depending on the severity and location of your cosmetic concerns, you may be better suited for one surgical procedure than another. Take a look below to determine what may or may not be right for you.

Brow Lift

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that addresses pesky forehead and brow lines that can cause us to look tired, angry, and years older than we actually are. An incision is made at the base of the hairline and loose, sagging skin is repositioned higher. Underlying muscles are tightened, and excess skin is removed to open the eyes.

Upper Eyelid Lift

An upper eyelid lift addresses some of the same concerns as a brow lift. However, this procedure specifically removes unwanted fat and skin tissue between the brow and the eyelid itself. An easily-concealable incision is made within the natural folds of your eyelid and the fat pad above your eye readjusted to give you a more welcoming appearance.

Lower Eyelid Lift

Lower eyelid lifts are designed to correct under-eye puffiness and pouches. Patients who would like to say goodbye to bothersome bags below the eyes may benefit from a lower blepharoplasty.
