What is Xeomin®?

If you think Botox® is the only option available to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines, think again: Xeomin® is here to erase even your most stubborn forehead lines.

Xeomin® is an FDA-approved injection that uses a highly purified neurotoxin to isolate and relax the muscles that contribute to forehead wrinkles and frown lines. While Botox® works to interrupt nerve signals between the brain and muscles at the injection site, Xeomin®

How Long Will Xeomin® Results Last?

Xeomin® results are similar to Botox® in that they only last a few months at a time. Clinical trials demonstrated that most patients were able to enjoy their results for three months before needing maintenance.

Xeomin® results tend to show up faster than Botox® results. Most patients report seeing significant results three to four days after treatment (versus one week for Botox®).

Studies have suggested that patients who undergo regular Xeomin® injections may see their results last longer than when they first started. If you become a regular Xeomin® user, your results could last up to six months before needing a maintenance treatment.

How Can I Make My Xeomin® Results Last Longer?

Apart from undergoing regular treatments to increase the duration of your results, you can help your Xeomin® results stick around a little bit longer with the following steps:

  • Find an experienced Xeomin® injector who will take the time to understand what you’re looking for from your treatment;
  • Avoid rubbing the treated area for the first few days after injection, as this could cause the Xeomin® formula to spread before it has settled;
  • Avoid excess body heat (like the kind generated by exercise) for 24 to 48 hours after injection, as heat could cause the formula to spread out to untreated areas; and
  • Drink plenty of water! Moisture is key to ensuring your Xeomin® results come out looking their absolute best.

Your Xeomin® provider can give you additional tips and techniques that can help you make the most of your Xeomin® results.

Am I a Good Candidate for Xeomin® Treatments?

You’re a good candidate for Xeomin® treatments if you’re unhappy with the way your forehead looks, or you think you have semi-permanent frown lines that make you look unhappy or fatigued.

Xeomin® is an excellent choice for candidates who have moderate forehead wrinkles and frown lines, especially between the eyebrows (those are also known as glabellar lines).

Any candidate for Xeomin® treatments should be in good health and have realistic expectations for their results.

What Should I Expect from My Xeomin® Treatment?

Most Xeomin® treatments take about 20 to 30 minutes to administer, making this injection a highly convenient treatment to schedule during your lunch hour (or whenever you have free time!).

Before your Xeomin® injection, your provider will numb the treatment site with ice or a topical numbing cream. After a few minutes have passed, your Xeomin® provider will inject the Xeomin® formula (via syringe) into the regions where wrinkles and frown lines are most obvious.

Once your treatment is done, you can go back to your normal routine. There’s no need for downtime or recovery, so you don’t have to worry about taking time off or missing out on the important stuff in your world.

Are There Any Side Effects with Xeomin®?

Xeomin® can create minor side effects that usually clear up within a couple of days. Most patients report slight swelling, bleeding, and bruising at the injection site. Some people report feeling tender at the injection site. Most side effects fade within the first week after treatment.

Very rare side effects include numbness and sore throat. If you have these sensations, be sure to consult your doctor right away.

Because Xeomin® is approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles and fine lines, this makes the injection an incredibly safe and proven way to tackle your most stubborn forehead lines.
