How Can I Treat Sagging Brows?

Sagging brows can begin to rear their ugly head as a result of changes in weight, sun-damage, genetics, lifestyle habits such as smoking, and through the natural aging process. Brows that hang too close to the eyelid can create a scowling appearance that makes us look tired, angry, and years older than we actually are.

At Specialty Aesthetic Surgery, one of our favorite long-term solutions for sagging brows is a forehead/brow lift. The treatment opens up the eyes and gives patients an instantly more youthful appearance. After hundreds of successful brow lift procedures, our expert surgeons have perfected their techniques and gained many satisfied patients.

Brow lifts are often done to enhance other surgical procedures but also provide dramatic anti-aging results on their own. Depending on your cosmetic concerns, a brow lift may be all you need to achieve an optimal outcome.

Your brow lift will be done as an outpatient procedure under either general anesthesia or via local anesthetic and IV-sedation. Over the course of 1 to 2 hours, your board-certified surgeon will precisely make an incision at the base of the hairline. He’ll then lift the forehead and reposition the brow tissue higher before carefully closing the incision.

In most cases, patients feel comfortable being up and moving around within just 24-hours. However, you’re encouraged to take anywhere from 7-10 days to rest and recover after your surgery to prevent any potential complications. Pain-levels should quickly subside within several days and can easily be managed with prescribed medication.
