How Does an Asian Blepharoplasty Differ from a Traditional Eyelift?

Eyelid surgery can be beneficial for men and women of every decent. However, when it comes to performing an Asian Blepharoplasty, a little more skill is involved on the surgeon’s part. Eyelifts are primarily done for aesthetic purposes but can also be performed for medical reasons.

The majority of Asian men and women have a distinctive attribute known as a ‘single fold’ upper lid. This simply means that these patients either have a barely-noticeable low-lying lid or do not have a crease above the lid at all. Asian blepharoplasty is considered a niche procedure that requires a unique approach. The surgery typically involves creating a crease the upper eyelid to enhance the size and expressiveness of your eyes.

To achieve the best possible outcome, it’s important to choose a surgeon with extensive experience in Asian eyelid lifts. Before opting for a surgeon, ask to see before and after photographs that adequately represent your particular upcoming surgery.

Dr. Moskowitz has performed thousands of Asian eyelid procedures. He has the knowledge and skill to help you achieve an optimal outcome. Aside from demonstrable results, Dr. Moskowitz is a member of the Chinese American Medical Society and is the Oculoplastic Consult to the Chinese American IPA. You can be assured you’re in good hands when choosing Dr. Moskowitz for your Asian blepharoplasty.

You may be a good candidate for an Asian blepharoplasty if you’re unhappy with your facial appearance, and are in otherwise good health. Patients are encouraged to go into the procedure with realistic expectations and are ideally non-smokers. An eyelid lift can give you a more attractive, youthful-looking appearance.
