WHAT IS NECK LIPOSUCTION?
Liposuction is a procedure designed to remove fat from they body. Our facial plastic surgery experts perform Liposuction procedures specifically designed for the neck area, where excess fat is eliminated to create a more attractive profile, thus enhancing your overall appearance. This procedure can help reduce the appearance of a double-chin and will also create a more youthful-looking neck.
Ideal candidates are adult men and women in good health. We also find that candidates with good skin tone do very well with this procedure. However, anyone who is bothered by the shape of their neck and wishes to see excess fat removed can be considered for candidacy. Individual cases can be discussed during our consultation process.
Neck Liposuction procedures typically take an hour or less. Patients will be sedated with anesthesia to reduce pain and keep them comfortable during the procedure. Several small incisions will be made below the neck and around the ears. Cannulas, which are tiny tubes, are inserted into the incisions and excess fat is drawn out of the area through the tubes via suction. Once the appropriate amount of fat has been removed, the tubes are removed and the incisions are closed.
Patients usually go home the day of their surgery and can expect swelling and bruising to subside within 5-10 days. We will prescribe pain medication to be taken during the first 24-72 hours following surgery. After this time period, over-the-counter pain relievers can be taken as needed.
Projected results can be seen before the surgery is performed. Computer imaging and simulation are available to help our patients visualize what their neck will look like after Liposuction. Photos are taken from multiple angles and used to simulate the results we can achieve. This gives patients the opportunity to provide feedback on the kind of results they have envisioned.
