WHAT ARE FACIAL IMPLANTS?
Facial implants are used to change the structure of your face and, most commonly, the cheek and/or jaw bone. Facial implants are designed to improve the contour of your face in a variety of ways such as emphasizing the cheek bone or minimizing the jaw line. These implants are highly customizable and can be designed to fit the vision you have for yourself. Furthermore, the implant’s longevity guarantees satisfaction for a lifetime of beauty.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?
Facial Implants are ideal for individuals who are past adolescence, since the head and skull continue to grow during adolescence and this may impact the long-term appearance of the face. During your individual consultation, we can discuss the need for surgery and your individual candidacy.

You will be given a local anesthesia for the procedure, which will make you more comfortable and make sure you don’t feel any pain during the surgery. The performing doctor will place small incisions through the mouth in an effort to conceal the procedure. They will then insert the implants through these incisions. Once placed, the performing doctor will then close the small incisions.
While all surgeries are open to risks, the rate of infection for surgical implants is less than 5%. These specific risks and others can be discussed further at your consultation to assess your individual likelihood of risks.
WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE?
You can expect to go home the day of the surgery. While you may be feeling good within 24 hours of the procedure, it is still recommended that you take 5-7 days off from work as you heal. Before the surgery, you will be given detailed instructions on how to care for your implants in the days following the surgery to help facilitate a smooth recovery. Care includes ice and special creams to minimizing swelling and bruising. We also prescribe pain medication to be taken during the first 24-72 hours following the surgery. After this time period, over the counter Tylenol is typically taken as needed.
WHAT RESULTS WILL I SEE?
Results can be seen before the surgery is even performed. Computer imaging and simulation are available to help customize the implants. This technology allows you to see what the implants will look like and allow you to provide feedback on how you want your implants to look.
