WHAT IS A FOREHEAD/BROW LIFT?
A Forehead/Brow Lift reverses the frown lines that can appear on your forehead. As we age, these lines deepen and can cause patients to appear much older then they actually are. By getting a Brow or Forehead Lift, we can reverse these effects to create a youthful and more attractive appearance.
Typically, candidates for a Brow or Forehead Lift are middle-aged men and women who wish to reduce the visibility of facial lines and wrinkles. However, frown lines can impact anyone regardless of age. If you are bothered by the appearance of frown lines on your forehead, a Forehead or Brow Lift may be for you.
Patients will be sedated with anesthesia to prevent them from feeling any pain during the procedure. Our experts in facial plastic surgery will strategically place incisions behind the hairline, and will use endoscopic equipment to lift the tissue of the forehead and brow area. Once the tissue has been re-positioned and fixed at a higher level, the incisions are closed. Risks include: infection, irritation, and scarring. These can be discussed further at your consultation to assess your individual likelihood of risks.
Patients can expect to be up and moving within 24 hours of the surgery. While you may feel good within this period of time, it is still recommended that you take off 7-10 days of work for recovery. A prescription for pain will be given, but after a few days, an over-the-counter pain reliever should be all you need.
While results can be visible almost immediately following the surgery, it takes time for the swelling and incision mark scarring to fade before you will see the full results. It can take several weeks to be fully healed.
