Which Dermal Fillers Are Included in a Liquid Facelift?
Your Specialty Aesthetic Surgery team offers several types of dermal fillers. The variety of options lets your injection specialist choose the best ones for each area of your face. They may use several different fillers to achieve your desired results. Dermal fillers used in a liquid facelift include:
Juvederm®
Juvederm® is a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in your skin, holding moisture and adding plumpness. The Juvederm® family includes Voluma® for the cheeks and chin, Vollure® or Ultra Plus® for fine lines and wrinkles and Volbella® for hollowness under the eyes.
Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a dermal filler that triggers collagen production to add facial volume. This filler uses CaHA, a molecule that acts as a scaffold for new collagen to firm and add structure to the skin. Radiesse® is used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. It can also treat the backs of the hands to address volume loss.
Belotero®
This hyaluronic acid dermal filler works to address lines and wrinkles, including vertical lines around the lips. Its formula integrates with the skin to produce smooth, natural-looking results. Your provider may choose to use Belotero® for a variety of applications.
Bellafill®
Bellafill® contains a compound called PMMA suspended in a collagen gel. The gel adds immediate volume, while the PMMA triggers long-lasting collagen development. Bellafill® is the longest-lasting dermal filler available. It is used to treat deep lines and wrinkles.
Other Injectables
Some people may have fine lines and wrinkles that are better treated with a neuromodulator. Products like Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport® can address these concerns. Neuromodulators excel at treating expression lines such as crow’s feet, horizontal forehead lines, and vertical lines between the brows (glabellar lines). They can also be used in many other locations.
Is There Any Downtime After a Liquid Facelift?
A liquid facelift does not require any downtime. You can have treatment and return to your daily routine immediately. You may experience minor swelling or bruising in the injection areas. These effects typically fade within a few days. Follow your injector’s instructions for any post-treatment recommendations.
How Long Does a Liquid Facelift Take?
Each liquid facelift is a unique procedure that addresses different needs. As a result, the time you will spend getting treatment will vary. Most people find that their appointment lasts about one hour. However, you do not need to get all your dermal filler injections in one appointment. Many dermal fillers contain a numbing agent that keeps your skin comfortable throughout the session.
How Long do Liquid Facelift Results Last?
Each dermal filler has a different lifespan, so some parts of your liquid facelift rejuvenation may last longer than others. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvederm® and Belotero® usually last one to two years. Radiesse® can last two years or more, and Bellafill® can last up to five years. You can have parts of your liquid facelift touched up at any time to maintain a natural, balanced look.
