Why You Should Consider a Revision Facelift

While most people love the results of their facelifts, some people do not achieve the results they had hoped for. A revision facelift corrects unsatisfactory results or results that have lost some of their impact as aging has progressed.

What is a Revision Facelift?

At Specialty Aesthetic Surgery, Dr. Grigoriy Mashkevich, will perform a revision facelift on a person who has had a facelift already and wants to alter the results. This can happen because they do not like the results of their previous facelift, and can also occur when the results of a facelift have become less noticeable due to age.

Why You Should Consider a Revision Facelift

You may consider a revision facelift if you have had a facelift and do not find that the results are what you expected. You may also consider a revision facelift if you had a facelift years ago and have seen the results fade over time. A revision facelift can achieve or restore the look you wanted.

Should I Wait Before Having a Revision Facelift?

Your previous facelift needs at least six months and usually up to a year to heal as your results may not be final until that point. In addition, surgeons typically wait to perform revision surgery until you have fully healed.

What is Recovery Like After a Revision Facelift?

You can get up and resume some basic activities after 24 hours, but you should expect to take one to two weeks off from work or other responsibilities. You will experience some bruising, swelling, and discomfort for at least a week. Bruising and swelling are going to improve significantly after this time frame.

What Results Will I See From a Revision Facelift?

You will see the results you hoped for from your previous facelift or the results you enjoyed with your previous facelift and wanted to regain. You will see improvement as soon as the swelling decreases after a few weeks to months.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Revision Facelift?

If you have had a facelift in the past and want to see different results, you may be a good candidate for a revision facelift. People who feel dissatisfied with the results of a facelift make good candidates, as do people who want a facelift rejuvenation to restore their results.
